Kiphire commemorated Independence Day at the public ground with MLA Nuklutoshi gracing the event as the special guest.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the guest of honor, followed by a salute from the parade contingents, which included 14 IR, 41 Assam Rifle, DEF, VG, NCC, Guides, Bharat Scouts, Albeth School, Cambridge High School, GHSS, and 41 Assam Rifle Band Party. The 41 Assam Rifle Band Party also performed the National Anthem during the flag hoisting. MLA Nuklutoshi addressed the public, administered a pledge for a drug-free Nagaland, and inaugurated the exhibition stalls organized by the Agri and Allied departments, District Legal Service Authority, and 41 Assam Rifle. He also inaugurated the CCTV installation at Police Station Kiphire.
The cultural segment of the event featured a special number by Tsaliba Kiphire District Disability Association and Lempanshe Tikhir, followed by traditional dances by Amahator Atparu (Women Cultural Troupe) and Tikhir Taimitong Club (Men Cultural Troupe).
In recognition of their achievements in sports, co-curricular activities, and academics, individuals were honored with awards by the District administration and District Hub for Women Empowerment under 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'. Volleyball exhibition match, prize distribution, and the ceremonial beating of retreat by DEF Kiphire were the highlights of the evening programme.
Commemorative visits to the District Hospital and District Jail by KTCC and Red Cross Society respectively were also part of the Day's celebration.
