Independence Day was celebrated with immense pride and enthusiasm at the Public Playground in Longleng headquarters. The event witnessed A. Pongshi Phom, MLA, gracing the occasion as the special guest. The celebration was marked by the MLA's Independence Day speech, the hoisting of the National Flag, and the Rashtriya salute from an assembly of seven parade contingents, showcasing the unity and vibrancy of the district.

The District Commendation Awards were conferred to individuals who have significantly contributed to the welfare of the community. The awards were presented to S. Chingmei, Dr. Nurul Islam, ABSI K. Lipokmanen Phom, Lance Naik Sangtsou Khaimniungan, UBC K.Pangthong Phom, Supervisor Veterinary Department; Y. Alex Akai Chungkhong Scaleman, Food and Civil Supplies; M. Wanmei Phom, Medical Attendant District Hospital; Lance Naik Pongang Phom Village Guard; Bomngan Phom, OMS Jugali Power Dept; P Toshi, Duftry, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School Longleng; Limayangla Angangwadi Worker, CDPO; Tiongsangba, Sweeper MTS, DRDA Longleng; Mola Phom Town Council and Bejila Self Help Group Yongnyah village.

The celebration further extended to cultural presentations, exhibition matches, and the inauguration of CCTV installations at the Police Station, Longleng. The event concluded with the rhythmic beating of retreat by DEF, Longleng, adding a majestic touch to the occasion.
