In harmony with the nation's celebrations, the 77th Indian Independence Day was observed at the Peren District New Head Quarter, located at the D.C. Office complex. P. Paiwang Konyak, Minister for Health & Family Welfare in Nagaland, hoisted the national flag, and delivered the Independence Day speech. The national flags were hoisted across offices and private residences throughout Peren district.

The festive event included spirited participation from schools, colleges, and security forces in the march past. The parade contingents were led by SDPO Jalukie Lunso and Second in Command Viloto S. Chishi, ABI. The unarmed cadre included institutions like Baptist Higher Secondary School Peren, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Government Higher Secondary School Peren, and Government College Peren. Additionally, armed cadres, represented by the 9th Indian Reserved Battalion (IRB) and DEF Peren, took part in the march past.

The 77th Independence Day was an occasion to recognize the dedication of individuals from various departments, as three recipients received district awards for their exceptional service.

The event also featured the inauguration of stalls representing different departments and organizations, fostering community engagement and showcasing the district's achievements. A tree-planting initiative by the Chief Guest highlighted the district's commitment to combating drug abuse.

As part of the celebrations, various departments visited institutions like the District Hospital, Sub-Jail, Children's Home, and the Red Cross Society, reinforcing the spirit of community care.

The celebrations concluded with entertaining performances by Baptist Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), and Peren College.
