Governor of Manipur and Nagaland, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, attended the grand finale of “Fusion of Bands – Season 3”, presented by the Indian Army, at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station (RMS), Dimapur on Friday, January 31, 2026.
Lieutenant General, Abhijit S. Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Corps, welcomed the Governor and other dignitaries on behalf of the Spear Corps fraternity. Expressing gratitude to the Governor for gracing the occasion, he stated that such encouragement continues to inspire collective efforts towards unity, culture and harmony in Nagaland.
Describing Fusion of Bands as an Indian Army initiative, the GOC said the platform was created to nurture and showcase the immense musical talent of Nagaland’s youth while fostering collaboration within the state’s vibrant music community. He noted that the overwhelming response from participants and audiences over successive seasons reaffirmed the power of music in bringing people together.
He appreciated the dedicated efforts of officers, personnel and event managers involved in organizing the programme under Operation Satvam, congratulated all the finalist bands for their performances, and expressed confidence that the initiative would continue to grow in the coming years.
The finalist bands for Fusion of Bands – Season 3, were Desi Rewind (1st position), Jack in the Box (2nd position), NTTB (3rd position), After Party (4th position), The Muse (5th position), and Rock Revolt (6th position).
Individual awards were also presented during the event. Best Drummer was awarded to Lima Imsong of Desi Rewind, Best Guitarist to Temjen Lemtur of Desi Rewind, Best Vocalist to Manchai Phom of Jack in the Box, Best Bassist to Wapang Jamir of Desi Rewind, and Best Keyboardist to Moalong Jamir of Jack in the Box.
The event was attended by Jyoti Bhalla, First Lady of the State; Dr. S.C Jamir former Chief Minister of Nagaland, former Governor of Maharashtra, Governor of Gujarat & Governor of Goa and other officials.
