Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Home Commissioner and Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland issued the report on Law & Order and facilitation of essential Goods & Services in the State for the 19thApril 2020. According to the report, no violation of the lockdown was reported in any part of the State.
The report stated that Control Room is being set up to monitor the essential supplies in all the 11 districts of the State. Shops for food grains and groceries were opened in all the districts except in Wokha, Longleng and Mokokchung. Medical shops remain opened in all the districts. No shortage of food grains, groceries, milk and medicine has been reported in the State.
On essential services, the report stated that no restriction was imposed on the movement of commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and service providers like electricity, telecommunication, fuels etc. in the State. Suitable arrangements have been made for providing food and shelter to affected migrant workers. 4 (Four) relief camps are functioning where 413 labourers are housed. Also, more 5500 daily wagers and needy people were provided food/dry rations by the Government and NGOs.
