Commissioner police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo IPS has in the interest of safety and security of the public and in order to minimize  movement of non essential vehicles issued an order to be followed with effect from 11th May till 17th May 2020, under section 115 of the Motor vehicle Act 1958 ( as amended by Motor Vehicle Amendment Act 2019.

On every Monday, Wednesday and Friday only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (eg.1,3,5,7 and 9) will be allowed to ply.

On every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (eg. 2,4,6,8 and 0 will be allowed to ply. This order will ply in areas covering the NH 29 and within the whole town area the order from CP stated. The order further stated that prohibition and restrictions on movement of vehicles would not apply to those vehicles exempted through various government notifications that are currently in force' in the state and Dimapur District. The order also cautioned said that violators would be penalised under section 177 and 179 of the MV Act 1988.

Meanwhile CP Dimapur has reminded the citizens that lockdown is still enforced and appeal to the people to abide by the order although inconveniences would be faced by them stating that it was for the safety and interest of all.
