Chozuba, under the leadership of Imkongmar, Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Advisor of Minority Affairs and Sericulture, celebrated the 77th Independence Day at the local ground. Imkongmar delivered an inspiring Independence Day speech and hoisted the national flag. Parade contingents were inspected, and the Rashtriya salute was taken. The national anthem was led by Government Middle School, Yoruba, and a pledge for a drug-free Nagaland was administered.

Entertainment presentations were performed by Govt. Polytechnic Institute, Tsunazho, Chetheba, and GHS Japan Riba. The event also saw the inauguration of exhibition stalls. The day concluded with a lunch at GA Rest House. The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched earlier in sync with the nation's celebration.
