World Environment day is celebrated on the 5th of June every year, to spread awareness and action for protection of environment. However, with the current scenario regarding COVID-19 pandemic, Rajkumar M. IFS, DFO Kohima made an announcement on 15th May, 2020 that unlike the previous years, WED 2020 shall be responsibly observed maintaining social distancing.

In this regard, a free online Competition on the WED 2020 theme “BIODIVERSITY” is invited for two sections- School children and Open section. For the School children section categories of competition include paintings (for classes II to IV), Short Story (for classes V to VII), Poems (Classes VIII to X) and Poster (Classes XI to XII). For the Open section entries are invited for Paintings (Preferably with a traditional touch) and articles. All entries can be mailed at kohimadfo@gmail.com on or before 23rd May 2020.
