The Government of Nagaland, through the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur held

An Oath of Affirmation ceremony for the newly appointed government nominee members of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) was held on 28th January 2025. The ceremony was conducted as per Section 60 A(1) and (2) of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, ensuring compliance with the stipulated format provided.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected members. Highlighting the historic significance of the event, he remarked, "It has taken over two decades for this moment to materialize. With the collective effort of the Nagaland government and the unwavering support of the people of Dimapur, we have finally achieved this milestone."

Dr. Chang emphasized the importance of unity and hard work among the newly elected members to address the needs of the people and bring about holistic development in Dimapur district. "I urge all members to remain united and committed to their responsibilities. Only by working as one can we ensure progress and development in every aspect under Dimapur jurisdiction," he stated.
