Today, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India held a meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Ministers, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governors and Hon’ble Administrators of 21(twenty one) States and Union Territories through video conferencing to review and assess the current situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland attended the meeting and he was accompanied by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, the Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, the Hon’ble Minister Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs and the Hon’ble Advisor, Information Technology, Science & Technology and New and Renewable Energy.
Today, 2 samples tested positive for COVID-19. The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 179. Out of this, the total active cases are 79, and 100 have recovered. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 79 active cases are asymptomatic.
As per the distribution of the 179 cases by age, there are 4 cases between 0-17 years, 169 cases between 18-44 years, 4 cases between 45-64 years and 2 cases between 65-74 years. As per the distribution of gender, there are 111 males and 68 females.
Till date, a total of 6,987 samples have been tested. Results of 5,582 samples have been received and 1,405 samples are awaited. Out of the 6,987 samples, at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), till today a total of 3,607 samples have been tested and out of which 135 samples have tested positive.
