Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, Minister of State (MoS) for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, held a review meeting with various departments under Dimapur district at the Police Complex, Rhosdoram Hall, Chümoukedima on 21st February 2026.
While interacting with the departments, The Minister said that, the State has immense potential to emerge as a role model for development if all Departments work together with commitment and clear targets.
Addressing the Officers, after her two-day visit to various locations in the district, the Minister stated that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, special focus has been placed on the development of the North-East region. She highlighted the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” (Everyone’s support, everyone’s development, everyone’s trust, everyone’s effort), emphasizing that development is a collective responsibility.
During her visit, Bambhaniya inspected health centre, Anganwadi school, Jal Jeevan Mission initiatives, interacted with self-help groups and women beneficiaries, visited a fair price shop, and held meetings with village leaders including the chairman and councillors. She appreciated the grassroots efforts and stressed the importance of taking government schemes beyond paperwork and ensuring effective implementation at the village level.
The Minister noted that Nagaland’s natural beauty and cultural heritage, especially the globally renowned Hornbill Festival, offer vast opportunities for tourism-led economic growth. She said tourism can significantly improve the livelihoods of poor families if properly harnessed.
Referring to Khonoma, known as a green village, she lauded the honesty and community spirit of the people, stating that such examples inspire the entire nation. She said Nagaland’s values and environmental consciousness set a strong example for sustainable development.
Bambhaniya also emphasized promoting “Local for Local” and “Make in India,” encouraging support for local products and empowering women, farmers, and youth. She underlined the need to provide platforms for skilled women and young entrepreneurs so they can become self-reliant and contribute to economic growth.
Stressing target-oriented work, she urged officials to set monthly and six-month goals to ensure tangible outcomes. She called upon all departments to identify challenges clearly and work in coordination to resolve them.
Expressing confidence in the state’s future, the Minister said that with unity, dedication, and proper implementation of schemes, Nagaland can make a distinct mark in the journey toward a developed India.
District administration, senior district officials from Dimapur, and other concerned departments attended the meeting and shared ground-level challenges and achievements through a power point presentation. Where the meeting was focused on assessing the implementation of key schemes under the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the district.
