At Kiphire, National Vaccination Day 2026 was observed on 16th March 2026 organised by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Kiphire under the leadership of Dr. Tsilise Sangtam, Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO). The event brought together the Aspirational Fellow from NITI Aayog, Veterinarians, and animal lovers from the district.
Addressing the delegates and veterinarians, Dr. Tsilise Sangtam assured full saturation of the two key indicators under the District and Block Programme for Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0. While the Aspirational Block Fellow, Ningsangwu Bomrr highlighted NITI Aayog's ongoing efforts and pledged comprehensive support to departments for district saturation and development. He also flagged off the vaccination drive.
The three-day continuous vaccination drive was launched, targeting 11 wards of Kiphire town and nearby villages. The focus is on combating Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) through mass vaccinations for cattle and cows, Classical Swine Fever for Pigs.
This initiative is being aligns with the ongoing Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0 under the Aspirational District/Block Programme. The program culminated by flagging-off the vaccination van for the 11 wards.
