Department of Urban Development Nagaland has issued a circular on 4th April 2020 with regard to the decision taken by the Government of India to provide a onetime ex-gratia payment of Rs.500/- per month for the next three months (starting from 1st April) to all women Pradhan Mantri Jan DhanYojana (PMJDY) account holders through the Pradhan MantriGaribKalyanYojana(PMGKY) Package. This decision has been taken by the Centre in view of the economic and social distress caused due to the outbreak of COVID19. The distribution of funds to the urban as well as rural PMJDY account holders will be carried out by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India through the State Bank of India.
In this regard, all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the State have been requested to communicate the above decision of the Centre and create widespread awareness of the scheme and also facilitate withdrawal of funds by the beneficiaries in an orderly manner adhering to the norms of social distancing. ULBs may also consult the Rural Development Department in the District/Sub-Division to ascertain that funds are deposited into the beneficiaries account.
Action Taken Report on the matter is to be communicated to the Department of Urban Development for further action.
