Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari Tiameren Chang has issued an order for all the villages under sub-division Bhandari in Wokha District.
The order stated that the information has been received from the Department of Animals Husbandry and veterinary services, Government of Nagaland on reported occurrence of swine fever disease in Assam state of Jorhat and Sibsagar District.
Therefore in order to prevent Swine fever disease, import of pigs from outside Bhandari shall remain totally banned until further notice. Any cases of swine flu disease have been asked to report immediately to the District Administration. Any person who intends to slaughter Local reared pigs should obtain clearance from the Authority, the order stated.
In addition, that any person found selling meat by the roadside violating the Covid-19 lockdown norms shall be penalized as per relevant sections IPC and Epidemic disease Act 1897. Therefore public has been asked to extend full co-operation.
