The Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO), in a press release on 5th May, 2020, stated that for precautionary measures against COVID-19 and welfare of general public, it had earlier issued a notification on 16th April, 2020 restricting vehicular movement along NH-29, carrying essential commodities for neighbouring State Manipur.

However, with some relaxations on lockdown by the Government of India, SAYO said it will follow the revised guideline and notification laid down by the Government. Accordingly, vehicles carrying essential commodities can pass through Southern Angami jurisdiction as per Government order, the press release stated.
