TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT MODIFIES ORDER ON EXCESS LOAD OF VEHICLE  

           In a corrigendum letter, the Transport Department in partial modification of even number dated 11.1.2023, Para 2 (a) has been amended and may be read as “Whoever drives a motor vehicle or causes or allows a motor vehicle to be driven in contravention of the provisions of section 113 or section 114 or section 115 shall be punishable with a fine of twenty thousand rupees and an additional amount of two thousand rupees per tonne of excess load, together with liability to pay charges for off-loading of excess load”, and not as rendered earlier.
