Tuensang District Task Force (DTF) was held a meeting for monitoring and management of the issues related to COVID-19 on 16th April 2020 at DC's Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS.

DC highlighted on the need to transport the suspected COVID-19 samples for testing without delay and in this regard Epidemiologist Dr. John was asked to tie up with agencies concerned at Mokokchung so that the samples from Tuensang are maintained and no delays happen in Mokokchung. He also stated that the District has vaccine carriers which can transport only 30 test samples and additional thermocol carriers will be needed to transport more samples. He also spelled the need for more Viral Transport Mediums (VTM).

President CKS, Nungsanglemba Chang highlighted the need to have a testing lab in Tuensang to meet the needs of Eastern Nagaland Region.

The DC requested the NGOs to bring their concerns to the notice of the Government and directed the medical team to be on duty at Sao Chang College quarantine Centre from breakfast till dinner time. He also asked the CMO to write to the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare to make provisions to train medical personnel of Tuensang district on use of cpap and ventilators. DC also apprised on the need for a portable x-ray machine at Longpang health Centre and asked the members to identify ways and means to acquire the same through monthly instalment.

The meeting discussed on the problems faced at the quarantine centre at Sao Chang College and also identified the problems of issuing travel permits by other districts. In the event of detection of COVID-19 positive case in the district home delivery of essentials may be the only available option of maintaining supply of essentials, DC stated.
