Dy. Chief Minister, Minister for Home & R&B, Y. Patton thanked the public for giving full co-operation while fighting to contain Corona Virus pandemic during his second visit to Community Health Centre Bhandari to ascertain the preparedness level on 3rd June 2020.
The Dy. CM said that Sub-division need to set up more quarantine centers to accommodate the incoming returnees as in the coming few days more returnees are expected to reach us. He also apprised the Sub-divisional Task Force committee for Covid-19 to submit their need base requirement to the Chairman of District Task Force for early redressal.
While addressing the public at Maratchu (Merapani) he especially thanked the village council for setting up of quarantine center on their own initiative which will help and felicitate the returnees from different parts of the country.
Patton said that the government is doing its best yet, he called the people of the area to focus more on agriculture and farming as people must not always depend on government. He also called upon the public not to panic at same time not to take it lightly as this virus would remain with us for sometime, and urged the public to strictly follow guidelines like social distancing, wearing of mask and regular hand washing as it can help from spreading the virus.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha highlighted the new SOP and informed the people not to disseminate wrong information that will bring negative impact. He also requested the officials at the sub-division to arrange the quarantine centers in such a way that returnees coming from different parts of the county are not mixed up for preventive measures. The DC and Chief Medical Officer assured to extend all possible logistic support for the smooth functioning of the quarantine facility centers.
Y. Patton also handed over PPE including face mask, rubber boots, gloves and hand sanitizers to the Deputy Commissioner for the sanitization workers contributed by Nagaland Voluntary Women Association comprising of the lady wives of the legislators.
