Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on 18th August 2020, at DC Conference Hall Kiphire under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Kiphire, Abhinav Shivam IAS.

Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB informed about the detection of one positive COVID-19 through TrueNAT but he stressed the public not to panic but to followed the guidelines and also on the need and importance of wearing masks, hand washing and maintain social distancing. The only green zone district in Nagaland was unfortunately detected with one positive case on 17th August 2020, from the quarantine center Kiphire, but he informed that for more confirmation, sample was further send to BSL- lab.

Chairman DPDB & Minister Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam welcomed all the DPDB new members. He informed that due to the COVID-19 matters many meeting were being missed out especially DPDB. He thanked all the frontline workers and the District Administration, Civil Societies for their tireless work at this time of crisis. He also urged all the HODs in the district to be more sincere in their work especially at this time of hardships. He also urged upon all not to discriminate each other or create fear but to assist one another. While mentioning about the positive case he informed the members not to panic because confirmation is awaited. He also requested the Medical department to keep detailed record about the returnees.

Lisethrong 11 ward President also in his short speech requested all the officers to do good work for the Kiphire District. Kiphire is known as 'Aspirational District' but he lamented  that things are not  progressing  as expected so he urged all the officers posted in Kiphire to be more dedicated in their work and also to bring changes in every department.
