In pursuance of the Government's Notification vide No. AHV/NPVCP/59/2019/1424 Dated, Kohima the 15th September 2020 and in partial modification of this office Notification of even number dated the 30th April 2020,in regards to the ban on import of pigs from outside the state due to outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF). It is hereby notified that ban on import of healthy and certified pigs from Punjab & Haryana except Assam, Arunachal and states having cases of ASF is partially lifted with immediate effect.The following SOPs laid down for license holders/ transporters vide Govt.of Assam letter No.VFV269/2020/60 indicated below should be strictly adhered to :-
- (a) The transit animals are not disembarked in any place for any purpose within Assam. (b) The vehicles do not have any stop over point within Assam unless it is of utmost necessity. (c) No animal waste or animal carcass is thrown out of the vehicles of the transit route. (d) Transit vehicles travelling through infected areas of ASF are to be disinfected at the exit points of the infected zone and the exit of the surveillance zone and the disinfection related cost have to be borne by the transporters or the supplier.
- Violation of the above mentioned SOPs shall lead to confiscation of the animals with fines as determined by the confiscating authority.
- Record of each animal, animal transporter with license number and vehicle number, name of the consignee is to be kept at each inter-district check posts and will be forwarded to the Directorate of A.H & Veterinary Department Assam.
- The transporters/License holders should report to the respective CVOs with details.
Further it is reiterated to ensure all safety measures and cleanliness in the market/public places as specified earlier.
