An emergency meeting of Longleng District Task Force on COVID-19 was held today (10th June) at COVID-19 war room, DC office under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng M. Shayung Phom and stressed at length on proper use and safe disposal of personal protection equipments (PPE). 

The Deputy Commissioner informed about PPE set suspected to be used and disposed off by the driver near the road side at Orangkong village while returning back to their destination from Longleng. He said that such practice is hazardous in spreading the virus and suggested for proper awareness and instructions on safety use and disposal of PPE not only to drivers alone but also to the citizens. After lengthy deliberations the members nominated Dr.Meren to give proper instructions to the drivers on safe disposal of PPE. 

The DC acknowledged the amount of rupees one lakh donated by the Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, and thanked the organisation, churches, NGOs, civil societies, individuals and well wishers for their financial assistance and support towards COVID-19 in various ways. 

The house discussed for accommodation of returnees coming from quarantine center Kohima, enhancement of security in quarantine centres and identifying buildings for COVID-19 Care Hospital. CMO office and Nyingching Government Middle School building were identified for COVID-19 Care Hospital. The DTF will inspect the condition of these buildings before final decision.
