“My dear citizens of Nagaland,
As on today, active cases remain at 43. All positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. Active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Till date, a total of 2782 samples have been tested. Results of 1699 samples have been received out of which 43 are positive. Results for 1083 samples are awaited.
Today, the Cabinet reviewed the status of arrangements for COVID-19 pandemic and a High Powered Committee has been constituted to decide on policy matters relating to COVID-19, including supervision of the State War Room. The Committee shall be chaired and co-chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister respectively. Hon’ble Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Hon’ble Minister, Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue & Parliamentary Affairs, Hon’ble Advisor, Information Technology and Science & Technology/New & Renewable Energy shall be the members while Chief Secretary will be the Member Secretary. The Committee shall be assisted by a team of senior officers.
It was also decided that besides myself, the Spokespersons on COVID-19 will be Shri Mmhonlumo Kikon, Hon’ble Advisor, Information Technology, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy.
It was also decided that the Medical Department will compile the status of COVID-19 patients for briefing to the media with details like district wise number of asymptomatic patients and symptomatic patients like mild, moderate, severe, admitted in ICU with or without oxygen and on ventilator support.
The Cabinet further decided that, in view of the shortage of hospital facilities for COVID 19 in Dimapur, the Tourist Lodge, Dimapur can be converted into a COVID 19 Hospital.
I would also like to inform that a revised SOP for the returnees to Nagaland has also been brought out by the Government today. The returnees by the Special Train from Chennai who are still in Kohima and Dimapur quarantine centres will continue to remain until the COVID-19 tests are done. Those persons who test negative will be sent to their home district and those who test positive but do not require hospitalization and are fit to travel will also be sent to their home districts to be kept at the COVID-19 Hospitals for treatment under special transportation after following all the necessary health protocols. Those persons testing positive and showing symptoms requiring hospitalization and not fit for travel will be shifted to the COVID Hospitals of Dimapur and Kohima as the case may be for treatment.
The returnees who have arrived in the State from the Green Zones of the North East states before 18th May 2020, and have completed 14 days institutional quarantine at a centre in Dimapur or Kohima or in any other District and not exhibiting any symptoms will be immediately released for undergoing home quarantine for another 14 days without the mandatory testing.
From 4th of June 2020 onwards, the returnees reaching the State at Dimapur either by train / air / road will be segregated district-wise at the entry point/Agri Expo site, thermally screened and all found asymptomatic will be transferred to the Quarantine Centers in the respective districts and likewise, returnees reaching the State through Khuzama, the District Task Force Kohima will make similar arrangement.
I would like to inform that all existing guidelines with regard to the Lockdown in all parts of the State issued vide Order of even number dated 04.05.2020 will continue to remain operative till further orders.
