Government Polytechnic Kohima organised Students’ Graduation day show of its Fashion Technology Department as a part of its Curriculum with the theme "Allure-Simple Fashion millage" on 22nd August with Additional Secretary, Higher & Technical Education, Sentiyanger Pongen as the Special Guest.

Sentiyanger in his address congratulated all the graduation students and said that a skill earn will make you a strong person and the more skills you possess will increase your chance of survival in today's competitive world.

He advice the students to strife for the best to make dreams come true. We all have struggle in life but with greater determination we can overcome that obstacle standing in our way. There are times when we find situation very demanding but always believe in hard work and you will succeed, he added. He urged the students to dream big and mentioned that unless you have big dreams it is difficult to achieve our goals in life.

Principal GPT, Er. Keyiekhru Rhutso in his welcome address said that Government Polytechnic Kohima was established in the year 1992 and Fashion Technology Department was introduced in the year 2004. He highlighted that during the Covid-19 pandemic when the world came to a standstill the institution was able to produce one lakh surgical masks, hand gloves and bed sheets which were distributed free of cost to the front line workers with generous contribution from well-wishers, faculty members and students.
