According to the DC Mon, 6 persons have tested positive for Covid-19 at an Institutional Quarantine Centre in Mon town. 7 samples were sent to RMRC Dihrugarh (ICMR) yesterday. All these 7 samples tested positive in the TrueNattest and were hence sent to ICMR for confirmation as per extant protocol. They belong to a group of people who returned from Chennai and were housed in an Institutional Quarantine Centre in Mon. They are all Asymptomatic. They are all males between the ages of 18 and 32.
They reached Dimapur on 22nd May 2020. All of them were tested in Dimapur and were found negative in the initial test. They reached Mon on 2nd June 2020 i.e. after spending 10 days in an Institutional Quarantine Centre in Dimapur. They were housed at an Institutional Quarantine Centre in Mon. After 7 days, their samples were taken again and tested using TrueNat on 10th June 2020. All 7 were found positive and hence their samples were sent to ICMR (Dibrugarh) for confirmation on 11thJune 2020. 6 out of 7 samples have tested positive in the RT-PCR test, the results of which were received on 12"1 June 2020 In view of the detection of a number of active cases, the entire Wangkhao Government College Campus and the adjoining Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Campus where the Quarantine Centres are located have been declared as a Containment Zone.
The COVID Care Centre has been activated for the treatment of asymptomatic positive patients.
The citizens of Mon District have been requested not to panic and be assured that the District Task Force and the Empowered Group of Mon District are taking all possible measures to ensure containment of cases and speedy recovery of positive cases. Public have also been requested to continue maintaining social distancing, practice hand hygiene and wear masks at all times.
In this connection and in the interest of the public health, public safety and public order in Mon DC, Mon,Thavaseelan K, IAS has prohibited movement of public within 1km radius of the Containment Zone i.e., the Wangkhao Government College Campus and the adjoining ITI Campus.
This order is passed exparte U/S 144 (2) Cr.PC. This order will come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force till further orders.
Any one violating the aforesaid order will be liable for punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
