The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on 23rd June 2020 at Deputy Commissioner Conference hall Wokha. Chairman DPDB, Wokha and Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan and MLA Dr. Chumben Murry attended the meeting. Vice - chairman & DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha who chaired the meeting welcomed the new board members Assistant Development Commissioner (Planning) Nchubemo Kikon and Excise Inspector Phira. During the meeting the Board recommended for approval to the State Government on LADP Schemes and common pool 2020-21 of Wokha district.

The DC while giving brief report on the COVID-19 related activities in the district said, so far the district has received 446 returnees out of which 226 returnees are released for home quarantine while 179 are under institutional quarantine. He also informed that so far, the district has tested 188 returnees and all are tested negative result. Chairman DPDB, Wokha, Mhathung Yanthan in his opening remark thanked all the front-line workers for working tirelessly, he also stated that the Government is taking very seriously and had often threadbare discussion to contain the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in the State and urged the district Task Force to apprise any difficulties faced by them so that the matter can be taken up to the higher authority for necessary action.

During the meeting Legislative member COVID-19 for Wokha district and MLA Dr. Chumben Murry has suggested for conversion of Trauma care center which is attached to Wokha district Hospital into quarantine center. After thorough discussion the board agreed to convert the trauma care center into quarantine center as most of the schools and institution which has been converted into quarantine center has to be handed over for the expected resumption of normal classes. The board also discussed dismal performance of Government schools in the district of the recently declared HLSC result, however due to absence of concerned department heads who were retired recently is being deferred in the next board meeting for thorough introspection involving all the stakeholders of the district for better performance for the next academic session.
