The committee has been formed following communication from MY Bharat to facilitate implementation, review, and strategic direction of youth-related programmes at the district level.

            Deputy Commissioner, Temsuwati Longkumer, NCS will serve as Chairperson, while the District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kiphire has been appointed as Member Secretary.

            The 20-member committee comprises heads of key departments including Health, Town Council, Industries, DRDA, NSS, NCC, Skill Development, and Employment. It also includes one youth of exceptional merit nominated by CEO, MY Bharat and one eminent personality nominated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.

            As per the notification, the committee will function as the apex body to review progress of youth initiatives, provide policy recommendations, promote youth participation, and ensure convergence among departments. The committee will meet on a quarterly basis.

            The tenure of non-official and nominated members will be for one year from the date of nomination.
