The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Government of Nagaland, has invited banking institutions, educational institutes, business associations and high-rise or shopping complex owners to avail the department's fire safety awareness campaign, which includes mock drills and evacuation exercises.
The initiative, according to a press release issued by the department, is aimed at strengthening the working relationship between the Fire Department and the public while improving awareness and preparedness among occupants of commercial and institutional spaces. The training is expected to cover live demonstrations of firefighting equipment, guidance on fire safety practices, instruction on the use of fire extinguishers, LPG safety measures, mock and evacuation drills, demonstrations of inbuilt firefighting systems where installed, and basic first aid.
The department has drawn up a month-wise schedule for the campaign. Banks, both public and private, will be covered in September 2026, followed by schools and colleges, government and private, in October. Market areas have been scheduled for November, while shopping complexes and malls will be taken up in December 2026.
Organisations interested in availing the programme have been asked to submit their requests to the nearest fire station on or before August 31, 2026. The department noted that where two or more applicants come forward for the same period, it reserves the right to conduct the training at a venue of its choosing.
