Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, has officially set up a Board of Administrators to manage the Principal Market Yard in Mokokchung. This group will handle the market's daily business until a permanent committee takes over.

The move follows guidelines from the Nagaland Agricultural Produce and Livestock Marketing Act of 2020.

The new board is made up of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung as the Convenor/Chief Administrator and District Agriculture Officer, Dr. Lanunochetla as the Co-convenor, while the other members are I. Panger Longkumer (Chairman, APMC Mokokchung); Temjenmenla (District Horticulture Officer); Dr. Tiachuba Jamir (Chief Veterinary Officer); T. Tatong Longchar (District Fishery Officer); Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mokokchung; Asang Aier; Kilangtoshi; Suputoshi; Akangmeren; L. Yanger; Nukshi .I. Ozukum; Bendangnukshi Walling; Nathan Ozukum; Mapuakam Kichu; Imrongkumba; Tiarenla; Ojintsungba

Functions of the Board and the Board of Administrators shall:

1. Exercise such powers and perform such duties as are vested in the First Market Committee under the Act.

2. Ensure proper management and administration of the Principal Market Yard.

3. Regulate marketing activities within the delineated market area in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

4. Maintain records, accounts and assets of the Market Committee.

5. Recommend measures for strengthening agricultural marketing infrastructure.

6. Board shall function under the overall supervision and control of ADC (HỌ) Mokokchung.

7. Board shall submit the progress report to the Deputy Commissioner on monthly/quarterly basis for review.
