In pursuance of the notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire vide No. DC/KPE/DEV-66/2007-08//877 dated 17th September 2026, and in connection with the nationwide awareness campaign under POSHAN Maah 2026, the installation of "Sugar Boards" in schools has commenced across Kiphire District.

The initiative follows the advisory of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to create awareness among children regarding healthy dietary practices and to sensitise students about the sugar content in commonly consumed food and beverage products.

The District Education Officer, Kiphire has been designated as the Nodal Officer for the implementation of the campaign in the district. The District Education Department, Health & Family Welfare Department and Social Welfare Department will work in close coordination to ensure that Sugar Boards are installed in all schools under Kiphire District and that awareness activities are undertaken.

As part of the campaign, District Education Officer shall further ensure that all heads of institutions/ heads of schools under the district take necessary steps for the installation and appropriate display of Sugar Board at prominent location within the school premises. All concerned officer are displaying Sugar Boards at prominent and accessible locations within the school premises. All concerned officers and Heads of institutions shall ensure that relevant details of implementation are properly maintained for submission of the district level report to the competent authority.

A detailed implementation report duly consolidated by the District Education Officer Kiphire along with photographic documentation of Sugar Board installed and details of awareness activities conducted shall be submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire on or before 10th of October 2026 without fail for onward submission to the concerned authority.
