The Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Nagaland, is releasing the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) with Base Year 2012=100 for the quarter January-March (Q1) 2026. 

 

Key Highlights:

  1. The State WPI recorded year-on-year inflation of 3.94% in Q1 2026. Primary Articles recorded the highest inflation at 4.20%, followed by Fuel & Power at 3.20% and Manufactured Products at 1.16%, indicating that price pressures were led mainly by the Primary Articles sector.

2.      The WPI showed a steady upward movement during Q1 2026, with month-on-month growth of 0.55% in February and 0.56% in March. Fuel & Power recorded the highest increase in February at 1.27%, while Manufactured Products accelerated in March at 0.76%. Primary Articles also continued to rise, indicating sustained wholesale price pressure during the quarter.
