“Today, an order has been issued by the State Government permitting partial reopening of schools for students of Classes 9 to 12 on voluntary basis for taking guidance from their teachers in areas outside the Containment Zones with effect from 21st September 2020 subject to strict adherence to SOP issued in this regard by all concerned for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Skill or entrepreneurship training in National Skill Training Institutes, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), short term training centres registered with National Skill Development Corporation or State Skill Development Missions or other Ministries of Government of India has also been permitted with effect from 21st September 2020 subject to adherence to all the provisions of SOP issued in this regard for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

A total of 51 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today – 23 in Kohima, 20 in Dimapur, 4in Mokokchung, 2  in Mon, 1 in Peren and 1 in Tuensang. The total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 5,357.

Out of the 5,357 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 4,108. The active cases are 1,213 and there have been 10 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,197 active cases are asymptomatic, 14 active cases are mild and 2 active cases are moderate.

Further, out of the 5,357 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are: 2,501 cases of Armed Forces/ Police, 1,430 cases of Returnees, 323 cases of Frontline Workers and 1,103 cases of Traced Contacts.

A total of 45,927 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 45,263 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 26,119 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 26,092 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,241 samples have been tested”.
