The Longleng district planning & development board meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Shayung Phom on 6th October, 2020 at the DC’s conference hall, Longleng.
The chairman exhorted the officers to be in their place of posting and cater to the needs of the people and also appealed to all the departments to extend full cooperation and support to the Department of Land Record and Survey team for successful completion of the ongoing Government’s Land Survey in the district. At the same time the DC also urged those departments who have not surveyed their departmental land to write to the district administration for conduct of survey.
On account of International week of Coffee celebration and the LRD being the nodal department the DPO, Land Resource Department, Longleng, Kugalo Chishi highlighted the activities of his department for promotion of coffee plantation in the district. While briefing on the significance of coffee week world wide the DPO spoke on benefit of coffee for commercial production, its medicinal values for health and beauty. Emphasizing on the present scenario of coffee in the state and district he asserted that earlier due to lack of market avenue and awareness it could not be implemented properly. However, after the initiative of the LRD and signing of the MOU at the International level coffee plantation is successfully being implemented both in the state and Longleng district. He therefore, called upon the members to create awareness on benefit of coffee to adopt and promote coffee plantation. To mark the International Coffee Week the LRD also provided light refreshment with hot Coffee to the members.
SP Longleng, Yanithung Ezung submitted a proposal for up-gradation of Police Post at Tamlu and emphasized the members on the urgency and its importance for up-gradation to SDPO Post because Tamlu is one of the oldest Sub-divisions and shares its border with Assam and Mon. Yanger Imsong, LRSO presented a brief report on the ongoing joint land survey by the Land Record and Survey Department in the district.
SDO Sadar, Longleng highlighted on the activities of the Officers’ Club Longleng and informed the members that the Officers’ Cub Longleng in collaboration with Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) is sponsoring coaching classes for the aspirant students for competitive examination called ‘Konhan’ for duration of six months beginning next month. He asserted that the initiative was to assist the aspirant graduate students who could not afford to go out of the district to avail basic coaching for various competitive exams. He also appealed to the members to extend full cooperation and support to Konhan.
