Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab. A IAS in a press release clarified that the Model Code of Conduct in Kohima district, in view of the Bye-Election to the 14 Southern Angami I (ST) Assembly Constituency shall be applicable only within the limits of 14 Southern Angami I (ST) Assembly Constituency, including the three polling stations under Ward No. 5 Kitsubozou (Chotobosti).

The release was issued in continuation of the office ‘PRESS RELEASE’ No. ELE/CDT/BYE-LA/2020/1593 dated 29th Sept., 2020, and in light of the clarification on the applicability of Model Code of Conduct received vide CEO Nagaland letter No. ELE/CDT-102/2020 dated 10th Oct., 2020 and Election Commission of India letter No.100/EC/LET(TERR)/NE-I/NL-LA/2020 dated 9th Oct., 2020.
