Member of Parliament, Tokheho Yepthomi visited Zunheboto district on 12th October 2020 and held a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's residence with heads of offices of some of the departments having centrally sponsored schemes, benefitting the general sector and developmental activities at the district.
Speaking at the meeting, MP reminded that, Prime Minister, Narindra Modi's vision is to see a developed nation, for which, he encouraged proper implementation of central government schemes and sternly discouraged mismanagement of the same. MP added that, the purpose of his visit was to oversee completed and ongoing developmental activities and management of government schemes directly benefitting the general public in the district. He the lauded the efforts put together by all the frontline workers, headed by the Deputy Commissioner Peter Lichamo, in tackling the ongoing pandemic.
Earlier, head of offices of departments like DRDA, Women and Child Development, Food and Civil Supplies and PWD presented detailed report on the ongoing activities and implementation of central schemes managed through their respective departments.
Speaking to the media persons, Yepthomi said that the visit was fruitful as he could see that proper utilizations of the schemes were visible but expressed his dissatisfaction over some of the departments not being able to be a part of the meeting. I expect every department concerned, to respond positively on the next meeting scheduled in the month of December 2020, he added.
