Minister of Public Health Engineering (PHED), Jacob Zhimomi, on 16th March 2021 formally commissioned augmentation of water supply to five villages in Japukong range at Yajang 'C' village in the presence of Minister of Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along and Advisor, Kazheto Kinimi, Chief Engineer PHED, Er. Repayangba Longkumer and representatives from five village councils. 

            The Minister while lauding all those involved for the successful completion of the project, also apprised the gathering that the central government was committed to providing safe and adequate water supply through individual household tap connection (FHTC) or easily accessible public fountain in all villages of the state in phase manner. The Minister also stated that the department is currently implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme in phase manner and called upon the people for their active participation and cooperation for the success of any developmental activity. 

            It may be noted that the project augmentation of water supply scheme through water source to 5 villages in Japukong range funded by NEC was started in 2014 and completed during 2020. The project cost amounting to Rupees Four Crore Eighty Four Lakh and Seventy Four Thousand was implemented to provide water supply to 5 villages namely Yajang 'A', Yajang 'C', Irmen, Akumen and Tsuremen village from the stream source located near the villages.
