Deputy commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K IAS, informed that 2(two) months Priority House Holds (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) rice for the months of May and June is being given by the Government in advance. In addition to this, 5 Kg of free rice for each person in the household of PHH and AAY ration card holders will be given under Pradhan Mantra Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) every month for 3 months (April,May,June).

If any Fair Price Shop (FPS) or Village Council under Mon District is found selling or misusing the free rice, criminal proceedings will be initiated in addition to immediate cancellation of license of the Fair Price Shop (FPS) or dissolution of the Village Council whichever is applicable.
