Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier in a circular has issued the following directives in the interest of the public to further adopt stringent measures in the district in the effort to combat COVID-19:

  1. Non-essential travel inter-district or within the district should be restricted except for those officials and department providing essential service who come under the exempted category.
  2. Social distancing to be strictly enforced at all time.
  3. In an effort to contain community transmission and in view of the detection of positive case in Dimapur, strict surveillance and screening to be made in all check points.
  4. Necessary directives to should be issued to all level functionaries and general public in all the subdivisions for those persons entering the district to declare themselves to the control room if they have come in contact with the person or have visited the locality or have been in the vicinity of Marwari patti, Ghorapatti and Zion Hospital in Dimapur, even if Asymptomatic and to quarantine themselves at home for at least 14 days. The protocol also applies to those who may have come into contact with those people indicated.
  5. Any act of non-compliance will be deemed to have committed an offence punishable as per the provisions of the Epidemic Disease Act 1897.
  6. District surveillance unit under Medical Department to keep a tab on the symptoms of those who are in home quarantine or under observation.
