An award ceremony was held on 7th June 2022 at Town Hall, Aboi, Mon. ADC Aboi, Chumlamo Humstoe, NCS addressed the gathering. The competition started in June 2021. The panels of judges judged the wards on various criteria from June 2021 to March 2022. He added that the same event for April 2022 to March 2023 has already begun and asked the public for support and cooperation for the event. He cited an example from Mahatma Gandhi's statement that cleanliness is more important than independence and further encouraged the gathering to take sanitation and cleanliness as their main priority.

He appreciated the ward leaders, Government departments, Konyak Union, Aboi, and different civil societies for their contribution and cooperation throughout the programme.

He further added that these programmes were held for the benefit of the general public and through these programmes Aboi Town has become cleaner and hoped that Aboi town would be an example of cleanliness to others.

EAC Longching, Dr. Cthitu Neinu delivered the welcome address and gave a brief report on the various activities and the criteria to be upheld in the competition. The programme was chaired by Mankhat Konyak.

Short speeches were delivered by the President, Konyak Union, Aboi town, President, KNSK, and Noksen Aboiyang, Ward president. They commended the work of the ADC and said the town has become better in so many ways not only in cleanliness but developmental activities during his short tenure.

The list of winners for the Cleanest Ward award:

1st place: Koiwang Ward

2nd place: Aboiwang ward

3rd place: Hahnyan Ward respectively.
