inister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil who is on a two day visit to Nagaland had a meeting with the Village functionaries and sportsperson at Hotel de Oriental Grand on 29th October, 2021.

Kapil Moreshwar Patil at the meeting said that the central government is focus on the development of the North-eastern States. He also said that there is still much need to be done and asked the village councils to apprise the ministry on various issues and difficulties faced by them in implementing the schemes and programs at the village and block levels. He expressed his happiness to see that the traditional local bodies in Nagaland are performing well in the state, especially the women taking active part in it, which will immensely help in the progress of the state.

The village councils and members acknowledged the Minister for his visit and having a special concern for the people of Nagaland and giving a patient hearing to their grievances. During the meeting, they highlighted the problems faced by the villagers and appealed to him to look into the matters such as sports facility, water facility, connectivity and banking so as to bring development in the state.

Participants who attended the meeting were chairman included Kohima Village Council Helievi-o Solo; VDB Secretary, Roko Angami; Women chairperson, Khono Kora; Village council Member, Khevisa Chale;  Women VDBs, Abi Chadi and Liya Semp; VDB members David Kemp, Noumvulhoulie and Philip Kent; Olympian Chekrovolu Swuro.
