In commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 8 Years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Kohima in collaboration with St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Kohima organized a Photo Exhibition & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Display on 31st October 2022, with Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along as the special guest.

Along, while addressing the crowd, said that through Eight Years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan, the Prime Minister's vision is to empower the poor and the helpless of the country, and Nagaland as a State is also enjoying the benefits of this policy. He was thankful to the Ministry of Broadcasting for allowing the young minds and the citizens of the State to know the good governance and strategy of the GOI. He also said that India, during the pandemic, was one of the first to help different developing countries and within these 8 years it has uplifted many other Nations in the world.

The Minister reminded the children that they should ask God's wisdom as they grow their lives and said that they could chart their destiny through sincere efforts and commitment to their ambitions. He also told them to take advantage of National Education Policy (NEP). Through the NEP 2020, the government is looking forward to making India a “global knowledge superpower” and it will be only done by making the education system for schools and colleges more flexible, holistic, and multi-disciplinary which will bring out their unique capabilities.

He further said that the problem with the Naga society now is the dependence on Government jobs alone. Therefore he encouraged the students to break that barrier and seek out and create other opportunities. He encouraged the students to concentrate on their education but at the same time to refine other skills and interests that they have. He added that Nagaland should be a land of entrepreneurs.

The Minister also felicitated the winners of the competition on the theme, "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav".

            Principal Director, School Education Department, Thavaseelan K, IAS, thanked the organizers for bringing together the unique concept of the exhibition and AI Display. He said that the setting up of AI in schools is fundamentally changing the way students and teachers understand and assimilate information in today's world. He further said that AI has immense potential to transform any field of human nature to sustain human life. Artificial Intelligence in education has the potential to be a game-changer for every child.

On the photo Exhibition, Principal Director asked the students present to access information and consume knowledge through the photos since photos transcend time. It bridges generations. It is essential to get into the world of photography because it gives a perspective view to look into the future and also to look at how the country has progressed.

The programme was chaired by Imtinaro, AIR, Kohima, and a vote of thanks was presented by P. Sophie, while Fr. Jaison CJ, Principal of St. Mary's Cathedral Hr. Sec. School gave the welcome address.
