The Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) has submitted a letter to the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Task Force on COVID-19, Longleng addressed to the Chief Minister of Nagaland requesting for ‘allotment of Trunat testing machine for Longleng district on priority”.
The letter signed by the Vice President and General Secretary of the PPC H. Tenchem Phom and P. Changlong Phom respectively said that as per the latest Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Government vide no. NSDMA-ER-COVID-19/301/2020/273 dated Kohima the 1st June 2020 asymptomatic returnees (excluding returnees from Chennai) are to be sent to their respective districts after screening in Dimapur without being tested.
They asserted that since the district do not have any facility for testing COVID-19 the apprehension and fear of the people is increasing and moreover, it is not only inconvenient to send samples to Kohima but also time consuming and takes a number of days for the result to be out.
Basing on the circumstance the PPC appealed to the Chief Minister of Nagaland to allot the first arrival of Trunat Machine for testing of Covid-19 to Longleng District on priority.
