The Department of Social Welfare has observed persistently low enrolment and underperformance in several Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) across the State, as reflected in data from the Poshan Tracker App - integrated with Facial Recognition System. The low enrolment has deprived benefits to the intended beneficiaries and has placed the Department in a challenging position. In view of the above circumstances, the Department of Social Welfare has decided to undertake a Comprehensive Performance Assessment of all Anganwadi Centres across the State.

Based on the findings, underperforming AWCs will be rationalized and relocated to uncovered areas that meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Therefore, community leaders and local authorities have been requested to extend full cooperation during the assessment process and further support Aadhaar Enrolment/ updation process to ensure that Anganwadi services reach all eligible and deserving beneficiaries.
