On 8th November 2020, fire broke out in Wakching Village AW, Centre-A area, where four houses were completely burned down and 16 houses were destroyed. In the process of containing the spread of fire in the adjoining areas, 17 AW beneficiaries (women and children) were affected. 

On 11th December 2020, on the initiative of RenchanoOdyuo, CDPO (ICDS), a dedication of Model AWC-cum-distribution of relief to the fire victims was held at AWC-A Wakching village.  

RenchanoOdyuo, CDPO(ICDS), on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the officers and well-wishers from SPMU, PoshanAbhigyan, Nagaland and Social Welfare Department for donating money and rice to the victims for immediate relief.

The welcome address was delivered by NgonteihKonyak, Supervisor. The dedication of Model AWC upgradation was carried out by Menton, Pastor, WBC.
