The Department of Industries & Commerce launched the State Official Website (www.pmfme.nagaland.gov.in) for PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) Scheme by Director of Industries & Commerce, K. Hokishe Assumi on 20th April, 2021.
K. Hokishe Assumi stated that the PMFME Scheme had been launched by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), GoI, in all the States and will be implemented for a period of Five Years till 2025. He further highlighted that the current scenario of the food processing sector is still in the un-organized sector where most of the locally manufactured food products are without proper packaging, labeling, registration, and licenses and also there is prevalence of sub-standard manufacturing practices and unregulated prices. Hence, the scheme, with its objective based on cluster approach through One District One Product (ODOP) system, focuses to assist and streamline entrepreneurs in the grass root level which are majorly un-organized. He therefore, exhorted the officers to help the local entrepreneurs in every step by roping in all existing units and prospective entrepreneurs and assist them for setting-up/ expansion of food processing units through the benefits available under the Scheme. He further stated that the scheme is being implemented by collaborating with various Line Departments and therefore advised the officers to have constant co-ordination among all the concerned line Departments to make the scheme a successful one in the State.
The website intends to act as a platform for prospective entrepreneurs and food processors so as to provide them with various scheme information, guidelines, video tutorials, handbooks, DPR templates and information related to food processing.
