The officers and staff of Urban Development bade farewell to its retiring Director, S. Takutuba Aier, and Registrar, Rita Luho on 30th September 2022 during the retirement programme held at the Directorate premises.
The outgoing Director, S. Takutuba Aier, in his farewell speech, said he had entered into service in the year 1988 and served the Department in various capacities, he also recalled the difficulties and problems they faced in those days that hinder them to perform their duties, but with the change of time and with the recruitment of young officers and with more manpower in the department, he expressed optimism of better service delivery for the welfare of the people.
The retiring Registrar, Rita Luho said she joined the service in 1987. She recalled that in her 35 years of service, she has grown so much due to the encouragement, love, and guidance she received from her colleagues both young and old. She also called upon the officers and staff to continue being sincere, and supportive and take the department to greater heights.
Advisor, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire said life is uncertain and everyone should carry out their duties with the mindset of serving God. He also said that retirement moments are the time to forgive one another.
Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, I. Himato Zhimomi said retirement is like reaching a station after a lovely journey and the others seeing you off and added that retirement is not the end of one’s journey but to embark on another post-retirement life journey.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Joint Director Urban Development, Tarachu Fithu, Nagaland Physical Planners Association (NPPA) President & Joint Director Municipal Affairs, Solesul Tholre, and HOD, Municipal Affairs, Chenithung Lotha. The programme was chaired by Assistant Director, Urban Development, Kiniholi Kinimi.
