WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY OBSERVED AT AHTHIBUNG

The District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC), Peren organized World No Tobacco Day on 31st May 2022 at Ahthibung Town Hall, Peren with ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang as the Special Guest. The day was celebrated with the theme-Tobacco, "A threat to our environment".

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang exhorted the students and the community to abstain from the things that can harm both their health and the environment. He also highlighted the seriousness of the effects it can have not just on human beings but also on our whole environment. 

Block Programme Manager, National Livelihood Mission, Ahthibung Block, Mary encouraged the students to live a healthy life and also presented the statistical data on Nagaland's present status of tobacco consumption.  

Meanwhile, a student of Christian School, Ahthibung also presented a speech on tobacco and the environment, while SDO (C) Ahthibung, Vekusheyi Rhakho gave away the prizes of the World No Tobacco Day painting and essay competition winners.

The programme was attended by Ahthibung Town Committee members, Gaonburas, dobhasis, and students from Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Govt. Middle School, Christian School, Sector School, and St. Joseph School, Songlhuh.
