In pursuance to the administrative approval of the Government dated the Kohima the 11th Nov. 2025 and following the directive of the National Commission for Allied and Health Care Profession (NCAHP) Act 2021 under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India regarding the discontinuation of the Term ‘Paramedical’, the Department of Health & Family Welfare has issued the following directives for immediate compliance by all Departments and Stakeholders concerned.
The name of the Para Medical Training Institute is officially changed to Nagaland Institute of Allied & Healthcare, Kohima. Henceforth, the Institute shall be officially known and referred to only as “Nagaland Institute of Allied & Healthcare, Kohima” in all official records, deeds, writing, proceedings and transactions both Private and public.
The use of term ‘Paramedical’ is strictly prohibited in all forms of usage, verbal, written or electronic. All existing reference to the Para Medical Training Institute in departmental records and further correspondence must be updated to reflect the new official name ‘Nagaland Institute of Allied & Healthcare, Kohima’.
