Under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority and the esteemed guidance of Executive Chairman, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak,

Judge, Gauhati High Court, National Lok Adalat was held in 11 District headquarters of Nagaland State organized by the District Legal Services Authorities. 

On this event, 11 sitting bench for Lok Adalat were constituted in the respective District Headquarters where the District Judges acted as presiding Officers. The core aim of this people’s Court arrangement was to settle disputes/cases at pre-litigation stage i.e is even before the case is filed in the court and in addition some pending cases in the court of law which are admissible under the Lok Adalat regulation to be settled through compromised and amicable means. 

A total of 381 cases/disputes were disposed of in the State Lok Adalat both at pre-litigation stage and Pending cases. The total number of cases listed up for trying to resolve in the Lok Adalat was 1158 cases/disputes, which includes cases in pending stage as well as in pre-litigation stage mostly in the category of bank Recovery, Motor Accident Cases Tribunal (MACT) and other cases viz. public utility i.e Telephone Bills and water Bills.  

Settlement amount involved in some of the cases amounts to a total of Rs. 4,06,21,512/- (Four Crore Six Lakh Twenty One Thousand Five Hundred Twelve) only. This Settlement Amount is the amount mutually agreed for payment between the litigants (or) parties who are involved in a dispute where the parties on arriving at a consensus, the willing amount to settle the disputes for the damaged caused or a negotiated amount for payment on a claim by a party. Settlement amount also includes the fine money, Bank loan recovery money, money suits, compensation money, etc.

Dimapur DLSA conducted the 3rd National Lok Adalat today. 23 Banks, BSNL and 3 Insurance Company participated in the lok Adalat. 1 Civil case, 134 pre litigation cases and 11 pending trial cases were disposed of. The total settlement amount was Rs. 22365592/- (Two Crore twenty three lakh sixty five thousand five hundred ninety two).

Mon DLSA organised National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Mon. B Peter Resu presided over the proceedings, and Panel lawyers Angun Konyak, M Moba, N Mannon were the conciliators. 15 pre litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and 8 prelitigation bank recovery cases were settled with settlement amount of Rs 24,04910/-only.

Mokokchung DLSA conducted National Lok Adalat at District Court complex today. Julian Sitlhou, NJS, CJM & Secretary Mokokchung DLSA was the presiding officer and Panel Lawyers as conciliators. Altogether 55 cases of bank recovery were taken up whereby 54 were settled through National Lok Adalat. Total settlement amount ₹ 26,74,694.

Peren DLSA conducted National Lok Adalat at Jalukie town where in pre litigation and pending civil case were taken up with WV Patton Secy PDLSA as the Judicial Officer along with Retainer lawyer Asungbe N Hau, panel lawyers Kidungyi Putland, Enchang Hieka, Italang Ramlia were the members of the Lok Adalat wherein 9 pre litigation and one pending civil case were taken up and successfully settled with total settlement amount of ₹ 20,24,000/- (Rupees Twenty Lakhs Twenty Four Thousand only)

Kohima DLSA along with the rest of the country conducted National Lok Adalat at District Court complex. Wokono Yhoshii NJS, CJM & Secretary Kohima DLSA was the presiding officer and Panel Lawyers as conciliators.Altogether 721 pre-litigation cases of bank recovery and Telephone bills and 8 pending bank recovery cases were taken up whereby 42 pre-litigation cases and 3 pending cases were settled through National Lok Adalat. Total outstanding amount ₹.65,81,985, Total settlement amount ₹ 30,79,970.

Longleng DLSA conducted 3rd Quarterly NLA at District Court Conference hall. Presided by Kumdilong Kessen (NJS) Secretary LDLSA. 5 cases were taken up and 4 were Disposed off whjch were of Pre- Litigation stage on Bank Recovery cases. The settlement amount was ₹ 2,40,774/- (Two Lakh Forty Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Four only).

Phek DLSA conducted  3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court complex Phek. The National Lok Adalat was presided by Neiko Akami ,NJS, Chairperson PDLSA with Sekhotso Rokha, Panel Lawyer and Thomeweu Panel lawyer as conciliators. 136 matters of Pre-Letigation bank recovery cases of SBI Phek and NStCB (Phek, Pfutsero and Chozuba ) were taken up and 68 were disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs. 28,60,847/- (Twenty Eight Lakh Sixty Thousand Eight Hundred Fourty Seven) .

Kiphire DLSA conducted 3rd quarter Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Kiphire. Presided by Holika Sukhalu, Secretary DLSA, Lizi Sangtam, Panel Lawyer was the Conciliator. SBI and Nagaland Co-operative Bank participated where in 6 cases were taken up and settled 3 cases. The total settlement amount is Rs. 43,000/-

Wokha DLSA conducted 3rd Quarter National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Wokha. District and Session Judge cum Chairman WDLSA Nino Iralu, NJS was the Presiding Officer and Renpemo Tungoe App and C. Jacob Kikon PL were the conciliators. 26 per-litigation Bank recovery cases were taken up and 25 were disposed of. The total settlement amount is Rs. 4,68,800/-(Rupees Four Lakh Sixty Eight Thousand Eight Hundred) only.

Tuensang DLSA conducted 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex. The National Lok Adalat was presided by N. Longshithung Ezung, Chairperson Tuensang DLSA,  Antimangyang Chang, Retainer Lawyer and Herola, Panel Lawyer TDLSA as the conciliators. All together 20 bank recovery cases were taken up and 12 bank cases were disposed of with a settlement amount of Rs.17,15,221/-( Seventeen Lakh Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Twenty One) only

Zunheboto DLSA conducted 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Zunheboto. Phuleto Yeptho, NJS, District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman ZDLSA was the presiding officer. Easter H Yepthomi and Inolito K Sumi were the conciliators. All together 10 pre litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and 08 were disposed of with the total settlement amount of Rs. 21,98,704/-.
