Three-day event of the hornbill extension Kicked Off at DSCZ ground, Zunheboto on 5th December 2024, with the theme "Celebrating Nagaland's Rich Heritage" organised by Sumi Youth Organisation with other event partners and graced by the esteem presence of Advisor, School Education and SCERT, Dr Kekhrie Yhome as the Inaugural Guest.
The three days event shall further be graced by dignitaries from various works of life including Minister, Higher Education and Tourism, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along, Former Minister, Government of Nagaland, Y Vikheho Swu, Additional Director, Tourism, T. Kakihe Sumi, President, Sumi Officers' Union, Zunheboto, Dr K. Akaho Awomi and Chairman, Livingstone Foundation Society, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema as Special Guests of the Hornbill Festival.
Celebrating the rich cultural and traditional heritage of the Naga societies and communities, the event will further witness an exhibition of various cultural and traditional activities and competitions by Sumi Indigenous Martial Art Sparring, an art of physical combat 'Apukhu Kiti' and Tug of War competition. The festival will furthermore be enthralled with mesmerizing musical extravaganza with artistes galore from across the state namely, Mengu Suokhrie, Keneisenuo Sorhie, Nikato Tamang, Physco K4, District Band Zunheboto, Aloboli Kinimi, etc. and glamorized by Miss Nagaland, 2022, Hikali Achumi and Global Model India, Tonoto Zhimomi as Comperes of the Eve Events.
