The 1st Inter-Departmental Badminton Tournament was Kick off at Tening Sub-Division on 18th September 2025 with ADC Tening, Furhesie Nyuwi, NCS, gracing the occasion as the special guest.
In his address, Nyuwi emphasized that the tournament is not only about winning but also about fostering cooperation, coordination and camaraderie among government departments and employees. “It’s a solid platform to get to know each other and the people of the area,” he remarked. He further highlighted the importance of promoting sports among youngsters and encouraging a healthy lifestyle while lauding the organizing committee for their commendable efforts. Concluding his speech, he urged the participants to “let your racquets speak and your shuttles fly.”
The tournament features over 21 men’s doubles teams and 14 mixed doubles teams with matches scheduled to culminate on September 19, 2025.
The program was chaired by SDAO Tening, Samsangheile. Er Volie Rentta, SDO PHED Tening, delivered the welcome and keynote address, while Rosca Jimo, VP GHSS Tening, pronounced the vote of thanks.
The event is being organized by the Badminton Club Tening, bringing together government departments and employees in a spirit of sportsmanship and unity.
